Cafe Racer and Jawbone Puppet Theater present: Beer and Puppet Theater, A puppet slam!

Don’t miss this fun-filled night of short form adult and experimental puppetry!

Admission is free! What a bargain! Although we will gratefully and humbly accept your donations to support the artists.

Come see short, fun, experimental puppet shows by Vashon Island and Seattle artists. Our puppet slam gives us a chance to be fearless, have fun, collaborate, and create new work on a regular basis. Slams traditionally feature adult puppetry. Our slam is unique in that, working side by side with our grizzled, veteran puppeteers, we feature children puppeteers in our line up, and kids are welcome to come and enjoy the show. But be forewarned, while there are no overtly pornographic shows, and nothing that we expect will scar your children for life, it’s not what you have come to think of as “family friendly.” We avoid that kind of insipid, cutesy pap. You can expect Slovakian folktales, witches, and esoteric clowns, death by freezing, death by fire, and death by wrath of god, not to mention a little Kafka thrown in for good measure. 9-year-old writer/director, Daniela, presents “The story of the Mushroom King.” And there will be a 5th grade report on the flight patterns of the American Crow, which quickly spirals into madness. We encourage you to drink beer while you enjoy the show!
