Diamondwolf,Adena Atkins,Jenny Littlefield,Birch Pereira &more!

Hello beautiful people of Seattle! I'm very excited to be hosting another evening of art and music at our beloved Cafe Racer.

Hold on to your hats! Here's who we have lined up to perform:

Diamondwolf, I'm looking forward to hearing this amazing duo! Their brand new EP will be dropping 9/19.
Dark, sexy, folky rock. Passionate, haunting, sweet and salty.

Jinsunmi Palmer is a lovely singer/songwriter who will be sharing some of her original work with us.

Paul Mullin (Poet) Paul Mullin’s dramatic innovations have flourished in productions across the U.S., exploring subjects ranging from personal nuclear catastrophe to the uncelebrated underbelly of American History

Birch Pereira and myself will be performing a duo set. Get ready for lots of ukulele and sweet vocal harmonies. Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints Jenny Littlefield Music

Adena Atkins “Adena Atkins is a talented and eclectic singer/songwriter whose music blurs the line between poetry and pop song, with a touch of impressionism and a lot of attention to details.”

Jawbone Puppet Theater at Cafe Racer

Jawbone Puppet Theater Presents:

Wise Crows, Stupid Machines & Toy Dinosaurs: Memoirs of a Bohemian Puppet Family

Thursday, August 29, 8pm
At Cafe Racer
5828 Roosevelt Way Northeast

Tickets: $8 cheap!

Join our quirky father/son puppet team on a quixotic adventure, in which we not only give you a peak into the real life joys and struggles of an itinerant puppet family, but also reveal shocking discoveries about the secret plans and obsessions of the crows, run into difficulties with an irksome thinking machine, and find out what they’ve really been hiding down in the basement of the Space Needle.

Note: this is an adult puppet show. Young ones certainly won’t be scarred by anything they see here (y’know, it’s not dirty or violent or anything), and are welcome if their parents want to bring them along, but it does contain some strong language, and complicated storylines and themes.

With special guest, Linda Comer, bringing you her unique brand of heavy stories, quaint humor, and off-key singing in her awesome opening act! And maybe, if we are lucky, even some cross dressing! Gotta love it!

King Sheim with Garden Party, Anagram and Caspian Coberly

Celeste has been making music in Seattle since she was 11. Her most recent project, King Sheim, has fulfilled her search for a sufficient outpouring of her musical and poetic knowledge. Celeste prides herself on her songwriting skills and friendly stage presence with a side of the badass-ery of the 90’s riot grrrl scene in Olympia, Washington. She loves writing songs she & others can scream to, as well as sultry ballads and blues rock. King Sheim has something for everyone! Girls to the front!!
Celestemarin.com

Garden Party is a fuzz pop trio comprised of guitarist Peter Brown, drummer Brendan Hickey, and bassist Max Beaulieu. Based in Seattle, Washington, the music is high tempo, energetic, and punchy. Synthesizing influences from surf, punk, garage, disco, and 90s britpop, Garden Party packs a unique and dynamic punch.

Beer and Puppet Theater: a puppet slam!

to Jul 27

Beer and Puppet Theater: a puppet slam!

Cafe Racer and Jawbone Puppet Theater present:
Beer and Puppet Theater: a puppet slam!

Don’t miss the summer edition of our fun-filled night of short form adult and experimental puppetry!
Friday, July 26, two shows at 7pm & 10pm, at Cafe Racer, 5828 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle.
Featuring performances by some of Seattle and Vashon Island’s best puppeteers and idiots! And as a special treat, this time we bring you loads of Puerto Ricans!

The early show at 7pm is a little cleaner, and will include the long anticipated show “Stink Guy and Robot” written & directed by Tiny, our resident 3-year-old!

The late show at 9pm is a little dirtier, and includes the controversial, and kind of fucked up story about “the father of modern gynecology.”

Tickets at the door $8 (no one turned away for lack of funds!)

To learn more about puppet slams, check out http://puppetslam.com/
It’s the height of summer! Enjoy a beer! Enjoy the show!

Our puppet slam series give local and visiting artists and puppeteers a chance to fearlessly experiment, have fun, collaborate, and face the challenge of creating new work on a regular basis. The goal is to both create community and collaborative opportunity for artists, and to treat local audiences to fun, new, experimental, and thought provoking performance art, created and presented locally.

If you would like to join us, visit the Jawbone Puppet Studio on Vashon Island, or present or collaborate on a show at a future slam, please contact Adam Ende, founder and janitor of Jawbone Puppet Theater, at 347-455-5558.

Stay tuned for the next installment at the end of October.
